Inclusion Havdalah Experience

As part of Chabad Ellicott City’s Inclusion Initiative, this special program is designed to create meaningful, accessible Jewish experiences for individuals of all abilities and their families.

Join us for a warm, welcoming, and meaningful afternoon as we explore the beauty and traditions of Havdalah—bringing light, music, and community into the new week.

✨ Havdalah Experience (All Ages Welcome)

A joyful and inclusive experience for children, teens, and adults:

Learn about the meaning and traditions of Havdalah

  • Create your own Havdalah candle craft
  • Enjoy a lively musical Havdalah with Cantor David Heiligman
  • A meaningful, hands-on way to connect with Jewish tradition—together as a community.

Parent & Advocate Program (18+)

Happening simultaneously in a separate space

Featuring:

Melissa Rosenberg, Autism Society of Maryland

This important conversation will include:

  • Updates on the tragic shooting of an individual with disabilities at Patuxent Commons in Columbia, MD
  • Guidance on what parents and advocates can do to help prevent similar situations
  • Insight into ongoing advocacy efforts on behalf of individuals with autism and disabilities

Whether you’re coming to participate, learn, or connect, this program is open to all. Come experience a space where every individual is valued and included. 💡 For parents or caretakers who would like to attend the parent session, trained volunteers will be available to assist and support children or adults in the Havdalah program.
