HEALTH CARE AND TRANSITION TO ADULTHOOD- Speaker: Heather Luke

Will doctors talk to me or allow me to make decisions for my young adult with a disability? What is supported decision making? Will my child ever have a say in his medical plans? How can I increase my child’s independence with medical issues? There are so many things to think about as your young adult with a disability prepares to transition from the school system to adult living, health care can be something that falls through the cracks.
