The Autism Hiring Program was created by the Autism Society of Maryland to advance workplace neurodiversity and acceptance, connecting businesses to an untapped workforce of skilled Autistic adults and targeting jobseekers not supported by existing systems.

The ideal candidate is someone with an open mind, committed to his/her own success, and whose goal is to find and sustain meaningful employment. Requirements include:

• High School diploma (required), post-secondary certification(s), or some college and/or a college degree

• Not receiving services from DDA, DORS, an employment agency or an employment specialist/counselor/job coach in Fall 2022

• Ability to participate independently in weekly virtual or in-person peer group meetings and 1:1 sessions with AHP staff

• Responsive to requests from AHP staff to attend meetings, coaching sessions, interviews, and trainings
