SUMMARY:What To Do During A Traffic Stop - Montgomery County
DESCRIPTION:EVERYONE feels anxiety when they see that police car light up behind them and may worry about what will happen next. \nCome interact and practice being pulled over with local deputies and officers. This program is fully inclusive and offered to ALL drivers and passengers of ALL ages. \nAlso\, learn how to call 911 the right way with a Howard County dispatch supervisor—and how your cellphone’s built-in features can help police\, fire\, and EMS learn critical information about you\, find you faster\, and respond more effectively. A few small actions now can make a big difference when seconds matter. \nDriving and prospective driving participants will receive: \n\nA printed copy of “PFA Tips: What to Do During a Traffic Stop”\nAn envelope which can be used to hold the person’s registration card\, insurance card\, disclosure card\, and a copy of the PFA Tips article with tips about autism for the officer on the back side\nA laminated card (with clips) to attach to the driver’s visor with the top five instructions of what the driver needs to remember to do during the traffic stop\nAutism and Developmental Disability disclosure cards (if appropriate)\n\n\nPractice session:\nTuesday\, October 6\, 2026 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm\nPractice session location: 100 Edison Park Drive\, Gaithersburg\, MD 20878 (use entrance off Main St. off Rt. 28/Darnestown Rd) \nRegister below \nPresented by Pathfinders for Autism in partnership with the Autism Society of Maryland and The Arc Montgomery County.
