DESCRIPTION:Join us for a half-day in-person conference on special education law with education attorneys Nicole Joseph and Kate Rabb\, and AUSOM special education consultant Beth Benevides. Nicole and Kate will walk AUSOM families through a practical\, parent-focused presentation about special education rights\, IEPs\, and 504 Plans. They’ll cover decisions about eligibility for an IEP or 504 Plan\, evaluations\, measurable IEP goals\, and progress monitoring. Parents\, guardians and caregivers will also learn tips and tricks for effective advocacy\, and feel empowered to raise concerns when their child’s education program is not meeting their needs.
