SUMMARY:Self Love for Self Advocates Webinar Series
DESCRIPTION:Self-Love for Self-Advocates\nStrategies for Overcoming Loneliness and Isolation \nSESSION 4\nIt’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood:\nBuilding Your Supportive Community and Facilitating Integration \nJanuary 14\, 2025 from 7:00-8:30PM \nVirtual by Zoom – CLICK TO REGISTER \nSe proporciona traducción simultánea al español \nThis four-part series explores the importance of self-love and self-understanding for Autistic self-advocates who experience loneliness and isolation. The goal of this series is to share tools and perspectives from past challenges and help participants chart a path forward for their lives. \nThe last installment explores how the intersection of self-love\, neurodiversity\, universal design\, and inclusive community spaces can help individuals break out of isolation and loneliness. A panel of business owners and community leaders will discuss strategies for how they combat isolation in Autistic people by building accessible communities. These strategies focus on creating community where people live by helping members build community integration skills and develop accessible community gathering spaces. What drives this is self love\, the idea that we are worth being community members and active participants in our neighborhood. \nFacilitator:  Steven Isaacson \nSteven Isaacson\, LMSW (he/him) works as a Senior Group Facilitator for DC Peers. Steven is a job coach by training and enjoys working with folks on the spectrum in community-based settings. He recently earned his Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Maryland\, Baltimore. When he’s not working\, Steven is tending to his plants\, camping\, hiking\, and pet sitting. Steven is on the Autism spectrum. \nPlease submit your QUESTIONS that you would like the presenter to address during the webinar IN ADVANCE by entering them in the memo field above the reCAPTCHA box. \nFREE to attend but a one-time REGISTRATION is REQUIRED to receive the session announcements and Zoom links by email! \nFREE! CLICK HERE to register! \n**If you have registered for a previous session\, you do not need to register again. \nIf you do not receive a confirmation e-mail with the meeting login\, you have not successfully registered. \nQuestions?   Contact 410-290-3466 or susanne.mason@autismsocietymd.org
