You’ll gain an in-depth understanding of the characteristics students with ASD may have and how those traits impact performance in classrooms\, at home\, and in the community. SUMMARY:ONLINE - Fitness for Youth With Autism
DESCRIPTION:The Autism Society of Maryland\, through a generous grant from the Hussman Foundation\, is now offering virtual fitness classes tailored towards those in the autism community ages 8-16.  The classes will be offered via FACEBOOK LIVE with video available after the live stream.  The class will make fitness fun for all levels and interests.  No need for fancy equipment or a big workout space.  You can use your own body weight or light resistance (bottled water\, cans of soup).  The class will incorporate cardio training and weights/resistance training\, while working on functional fitness fundamentals such as balance\, agility and core strength.  Dress in your most fun workout attire and join us\, Saturday mornings at 10am \nAbout the instructor:  Katie Gandy has been a group fitness instructor and personal trainer for over 15 years. Certified in group fitness\, TRX\, spin\, as well as recently beginning the training for her Level I Autism Fitness Certification program\, Katie combines her fitness experience with her training as an autism mom to bring you fun\, challenging workouts on Saturdays at 10am. \nCLICK TO JOIN
